Remote Controlled Wing Motion Model
Brief
In 14 weeks, take apart a Remote Controlled Vehicle, model all its internal parts in SolidWorks, then create a working prototype based on these parts.
Solution
A four wheeled vehicle that replicates the movement of a manta ray in motion.
Concept Development
The movement was inspired by the rippling movement of the manta ray and stingray, as well as Theo Jansen’s “Strandbeest” project. I attempted to replicate some of the organic-looking movement using the same movement of the motor that drives the wheels.
